The Story
The Malet e Jezercit have long served as Ferizaj’s natural retreat. Historically used for grazing, wood gathering, and seasonal foraging, the slopes are now frequented by hikers, photographers, and families seeking fresh air and quiet.
The mountains are covered in pine and beech forests, with occasional clearings that offer panoramic views of the Ferizaj plain. In spring, wildflowers bloom along the trails, and in autumn, the foliage turns golden. The area is also home to natural springs that feed the Nerodime River.
Though not formally marked or maintained, local guides and residents can point visitors to scenic paths, hidden viewpoints, and picnic spots. The mountains are also a gateway to the Jezerc Waterfall and other natural features in the region.
The Jezerc Mountains are a rhythm of life for nearby villagers and a growing draw for eco-tourism in southern Kosovo.
