The Story
Parku i Lirisë was developed as part of Ferizaj’s post-war urban expansion, with the goal of providing accessible green space for the growing population. Its name, “Freedom Park” reflects Kosovo’s broader narrative of liberation and civic renewal.
The park features wide grassy areas, walking trails, benches, and playgrounds. It is a favorite spot for weekend picnics, children’s games, and quiet walks. Local schools often use it for outdoor activities, and it occasionally hosts small cultural events or community gatherings.
Unlike the more formal Skenderbeu Square, Parku i Lirisë offers a casual, nature-focused experience. It’s where Ferizaj breathes where civic life meets leisure, and where the city’s families find space to connect.
