Visoki Deçani Monastery

A magnificent 14th-century Serbian Orthodox Monastery, designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and renowned for possessing the largest and most valuable collection of frescoes in the Balkans.

Access Requirement: Must present a Passport or Photo ID at the security checkpoint. 


Must See: Interior frescoes (over 1,000 compositions). 


Local Product: Monks sell excellent wine, rakia, and honey. 


Directions: Follow the road toward Rugova Canyon past Deçan.

Open Hours: Daily 08:00–17:00. 


Terrain: Flat, paved courtyard. 


Wheelchair: Grounds generally accessible.
