Mother Teresa Museum
The Mother Teresa Museum in Prizren is Kosovo’s tribute to compassion, opened in 2025, it honors the life and legacy of the Albanian saint through personal documents, photographs, and educational programs that inspire reflection and service.

The Story
The museum was inaugurated on February 18, 2025, during Kosovo’s Independence Day celebrations, in a ceremony attended by national leaders, religious figures, and civil society representatives. It was developed through a partnership between the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Prizren, and CHwB Kosovo, with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
Exhibits include archival photographs, letters, and biographical panels that trace Mother Teresa’s journey from her early life in Skopje to her global humanitarian work. The museum emphasizes her Albanian identity and her mission to serve “the poorest of the poor,” offering visitors a space for reflection and civic inspiration.
Beyond its permanent exhibition, the museum hosts annual artistic programs, educational workshops for children, and community events that promote values of empathy, service, and intercultural understanding.
Its opening marks a significant addition to Prizren’s cultural landscape, reinforcing the city’s role as a center of historical memory and moral leadership.
